Africa and Onward

This section is hidden away under "What Else" because as soon as I hit the road, whatever plan there is will immediately be shot to hell. In fact, I didn't even have to leave home for my initial plan to change radically.

Since you never know what's coming tomorrow or next month or whenever, this isn't a plan I'm really investing myself in. I want to go, and I think it's still reasonable to do a trip like this. But anything can happen between now and departure time, so I'll keep an eye out and make adjustments as necessary.

That said, this is what I hope to do.

GETTING THERE
My last day at work was November 22nd.. It was problematic because I work in television, and that's right in the middle of the really-important November ratings period, but there's never a good time to quit your job. But it seems they understand

I took my 100 lb Yellow Lab "Nielsen" and whatever there wasleft in my apartment to my Mom's in Virginia, and left Nielsen to play with his country cousins "Puddin" and "Abby.".

Then a few weeks around Thanksgiving with Dad in Virginia and a few trips to see some people I haven't seen in a long time. In mid-December, I head to Tampa to board the Yucatan Express. Christmas is with Mom in Cancun and from there I spend some time around the Yucutan before, most likely, heading south to Belize and/or Guatemala.
