My First Border Crossing

Crossing into North Carolina from Georgia. It's my first border crossing on the Appalachian Trail. I was pleased that anytime I quit after this point, I'd at least made it out of Georgia.

In the early days of the Trail, people remind you that Georgia is some of the hardest hiking there is and it gets easier as you go north. It's a cruel joke. Immediately past where this photo was taken, the Trail goes up more steeply than anywhere thus far.
