The Bizarre-est Church in the World
Near San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico
January 10, 2003

In a strange mix of Catholicism and ancient Mayan beliefs, people in this church had open flames of various leaves and herbs. The inside walls of the church are completely black with the soot. I could hardly breathe.

The story goes that two western tourists were once killed for taking a photo inside. You're not supposed to.
