These So-Called Vacations
Breckenridge, Colorado, USA
Sunday March 31, 2002

OK, so I'm actually back home in Cincinnati, but I wanted to put something different on the location line.

Breckenridge was great. You know you had a good vacation when you look forward to getting back to work so you can rest. As they say... "These so-called vacations will soon be my death."

The "Day Frame" gets a tad crowded with eight people. I was once again on the couch in the living room, which really isn't so bad. It's apparently much more comfortable than the bed in Holly and Julie's room. They alternated sleeping on the floor.

We skied six days... Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, off day, Copper, Keystone, Breckenridge. I'd've liked to get to A-Basin one day, but not everyone was into the idea. The snow was OK. It felt kinda like skiing North Carolina at times. Frozen hardpack one minute... heavy wet crud the next. But you really can't complain when you're in the Rockies skiing instead of at work.

I read pieces of Lonely Planet Central America on the way home. Got me pretty excited about the place. I hadn't been all that enthused about heading south first instead of going straight to Europe and Asia, but it seems like there's a lot to see and do.

I hope my tentative departure date of October or November works out.|
