It was eerie. It's been like 95 degrees and humid in Cincinnati for the last three months. I open the door this morning and September 11th 2001 rolls over me. In the six hours since I took the dog out last night, the weather's totally changed. Cool, dry, slightly breezy with a clear blue haze-less sky. It looked and felt exactly like it did one year ago.

Fortunately for everybody most of the similarities ended there. It was interesting watching how differently the networks and local stations approached the anniversary. It seemed ABC tried to resurrect its "ABC 2000" idea where it was on the air for 24 hours over the millennium. They probably did the best job. I just wish we could put Brokaw in ABC's newscast. That'd be perfect.

In happier news, I got my student ID card the other day. I should say I got my first student ID card the other day. This one's the international card you have to have, but you still sometimes have to complement it with your actual college ID. I think that one's next week. This whole ID thing is definitely more trouble than it's worth, but it gives me something to do to feel like I'm getting closer.|
