I'm completely losing track of time. I kinda figured this would happen... but not this quickly. Not only do I not know if it's a weekend or weekday, I have no concept of how long ago things happened. Someone asked me today how recently I was in Washington and I had no idea. At first I thought it was a week or so ago. It was actually two days. What's with that?
I guess it's because you gauge time based on routine. If I've been to work four times since something happened, it's probably been four days. But with no routine, I have nothing to judge time against.
Back home at Mom's for a couple of days. This is cool. I get to see my dog one more time. He's lost a ton of weight. I had no idea how fat he was.
"I always luck out with this." I've worked out some details of how I'm getting to my boat that takes me from Tampa to Cancun. Dad's gonna drop me of in Tampa on Sunday. I'll see some friends there for a couple of days till I leave on Tuesday. The only problem is the friend who's putting me up lives in Clearwater and works in St. Petersburg. There's no way she can drive me all the way to Tampa that morning. So I've begun investigating the public transportation options.
I always luck out with this. There's only one bus that runs from St. Petersburg into Tampa and guess what... it goes right by the port! It actually comes within a few blocks of the port and there's a streetcar that goes the rest of the way. But whatever... it's just like the Cincinnati bus I found that ran right by my house and straight to the TV station.
So one week from today. Seven more days in the US and then... who knows. It's a little intimidating, but this is what I like best... not having a clue where I'm gonna be in a month or six months. I just have to hold my breath till I realize I'm having fun.
